Equipment

  • 1 Ice cream maker Optional

Ingredients

  • 1 kg watermelon peeled and cut into chunks, seeds removed
  • 3 3 large white peaches (Saturn or flat peaches) pitted and sliced
  • 50 grams sugar (optional, adjust to taste) Can be replaced with a tbsp of honey or sweetener
  • ½ lemon juice
  • 70 ml cold water
  • fresh mint leaves for decoration (optional)

Instructions

  • Prepare the fruit: Cut the watermelon into chunks, removing the rind and seeds. Slice the peaches, removing the pits. Peeling the peaches is optional.
  • Blend everything: Add the watermelon, peaches, sugar, lemon juice, and water to a blender. Blend until completely smooth.
  • Taste & adjust: Taste the mixture and adjust the sweetness if needed, adding a little more sugar, honey, or sweetener to your liking.
  • Strain (optional): For a smoother texture, pour the blended mixture through a fine mesh sieve to remove any pulp.
  • Freeze:
If using an ice cream maker: churn according to your machine’s instructions until it reaches a sorbet consistency.
If using a freezer: pour the mixture into a shallow container and freeze. Stir every 30–45 minutes for the first 2–3 hours to break up ice crystals, until smooth and scoopable.
  • Serve: Scoop into bowls or glasses. Decorate with fresh mint leaves just before serving.

Optional adult version

  • Add a splash (about 1–2 tbsp) of peach liqueur, white rum, or ouzo to the mix before freezing for a grown-up twist.
