Ingredients

  • 200 grams Feta cheese
  • 2-3 Ripe tomatoes diced
  • 1 1 Small green chili pepper or red chili finely sliced (adjust heat to preference)
  • 1 Small bell pepper sliced (optional for added sweetness)
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes (or more if you like it extra spicy!)
  • Olive oil extra virgin
  • Freshly ground black pepper to taste

Optional

  • 1 Clove garlic minced (recommended!)
  • ½ tsp Smoked paprika (adds depth)
  • Kalamata olives (optional Mediterranean touch!)

Instructions

  • Set the oven to 375°F (190°C). If you’re using a traditional Greek clay pot (saganaki dish), even better!
  • In a small ovenproof dish, place the block of feta in the center.Surround it with diced tomatoes and sliced peppers.
  • Sprinkle the oregano, red pepper flakes, black pepper, and smoked paprika over the feta and veggies. If using garlic, mince it finely and scatter it around.
  • Drizzle with abundant olive oil to bring out all the flavors.
  • Bake for about 15–20 minutes, or until the feta softens and the tomatoes are juicy.
  • Serve hot with bread or pita.

Notes

  • Toss in a few slices of spicy Greek sausage (loukaniko) for a heartier dish.
